conhIT 2018: Review

PTA as exhibitor at the conhIT in Berlin

With around 10,000 visitors from all over the world and 577 exhibitors, conhIT is the leading trade fair for digital transformation in the healthcare sector. The end of the trade fair on 19.04.2018 marked the end of three intensive days of professional exchange on this year’s key topics of interoperability, standardization and electronic patient records.

Many discussions at the PTA GmbH stand highlighted the need for modern IT solutions along the entire value chain. Especially in the healthcare sector, digital transformation offers the potential for a competitive advantage with regard to the implementation of economical and patient-centered care – however, the high data protection and regulatory requirements must be taken into account. This is relevant for everyone involved in the healthcare sector: Be it service providers such as hospitals and care centers, or payers such as health insurance companies and affiliated associations, but also medical technology manufacturers and providers of medical information systems.

PTA is a problem solver and development partner in the health IT sector

It is precisely in these areas that PTA GmbH, with its many years of experience and the services it offers, is a competent partner.

Dr. Thomas Steinmann, who has overall responsibility for the life science sector at PTA, reports: “We went to the trade fair with the aim of impressing both the manufacturers of medical information systems or medical technology and the payers and service providers with our competence and many years of expertise in supporting health IT projects. The pressure to innovate that is running through the industry is leading to great demand for our specialized IT services, with which we support the development of future-proof and market-driven software products in the healthcare sector. Our wealth of experience in the health IT sector is unique in this scope and with our flexibility and was also perceived as such. You could clearly feel the interest during the discussions.”

Dr. Holger Heßke, branch manager in Dresden, IT consultant and experienced project manager in the field of laboratory automation, clinical information systems and electronic patient records, adds: “We have repeatedly found that our service portfolio is particularly appealing to the needs of our customers. In particular, the sustainable support of software products in maintenance and care or the early consideration of regulatory requirements for approval-relevant products convinced our business partners to choose PTA as a reliable and trustworthy service provider. We provide support along the entire value chain in modern healthcare, from technical requirements engineering to technical design and implementation in accordance with international guidelines (MDR, IVDR, FDA) and standards (IHE/HL-7); from consideration of usability (IEC 62366) and the implementation of quality management systems (ISO 13485) to integration and system testing.”
