PTA wins Best of Consulting Award 2021 from WirtschaftsWoche
Management consultants should be one thing above all: Excellent. Under this motto, WirtschaftsWoche once again awarded first-class consulting projects with the “Best of Consulting 2021”, “Best of Consulting Mittelstand 2021” and “Best of Consulting Blue Chip 2021” prizes on November 23 at the InterContinental Hotel on Düsseldorf’s Königsallee. Among the winners was PTA IT-Beratung, which took second place in the “Technologies” category of the prestigious “Best of Consulting” award. The jury honored the introduction of an operating diary at MVV Netze GmbH, which the PTA consultants developed together with the energy supplier in the openKONSEQUENZ working group.
The atmosphere at the Düsseldorf InterContinental on Königsallee was festive: the WirtschaftsWoche jury selected PTA as one of the best management consultancies in Germany from a large number of applicants. The IT consultancy based in Mannheim was able to score points with the WiWo jury among more than 160 competitors with the introduction of an operating diary at MVV Netze, an energy supplier in Mannheim. What is special about this project is that the solution was developed by the PTA consultants in the openKONSEQUENZ working group, a unique association of network operators, IT manufacturers and institutions in Germany that has set itself the goal of developing open-source software required by network operators. The openKONSEQUENZ platform of the same name offers consortially developed, open, modular and secure software free of charge, which supports the essential tasks of operating energy and water networks on the basis of coordinated processes.
Operating logbook ensures audit-proof shift change processes
In addition to the special feature that the IT solution can be downloaded and used by any interested network operator via the Eclipse platform without license costs, the solution was also convincing in terms of content. The operations diary enables MVV to record, plan and remind entries in detail and supports the entire shift change process. All users benefit from a consistently high level of process transparency. In addition, the network control centers benefit greatly from structured information transfer during shift changes, as all information is now always shared in an audit-proof manner. And the time of transfer of responsibility at a shift change is also precisely documented with the use of the company diary.
PTA is also involved in the openKONSEQUENZ working group
In addition to the award-winning development of a company diary, the PTA experts have developed further openKONSEQUENZ modules. This includes, for example, the “Planned grid measures” module, which significantly simplifies the management of grid measures that regularly occur at grid operators. As a central system for publishing faults and planned supply interruptions with network operators, the PTA consultants have also developed a fault information tool – which is also open-source and free of charge. New IT solutions can be developed in the working group in a much shorter time and further developments are possible at short notice. Thanks to a modern service-oriented architecture (SOA), the software is also flexibly scalable, expandable, easy to maintain and therefore extremely durable.
Pioneering solutions and excellent companies receive awards
The award was accepted by the Managing Director of PTA Unternehmensberatung, Dr. Tim Walleyo, on November 23, 2021 in Düsseldorf: “The award ceremony took place in an atmospheric setting. It was a great occasion to celebrate, because we are delighted to have received the award. It not only confirms our successful work and consulting, but is also representative of the IT solutions that we develop together with our customers. Digitization in particular offers great potential for optimization and savings, and the openKONSEQUENZ working group impressively demonstrates that processes and specific business procedures can be optimized very successfully and quickly.”
