Short description:

The project concerns digitizing business process in the context of document processing, aiming at providing a survey of the current state. The processes are analyzed to obtain suggestions for optimization, enabling the customer to work more efficient and reduce costs. Survey and optimization base on co-worker interviews, questionnaires and BPM models crafted throughout the project. PTA supports the project providing a project manager who is also responsible for survey conduction, BPM modelling and developing optimization proposals.


Technologies employed in the project include Signavio for BPM modelling, Big Blue Button for video conferences as well as MS OneDrive for file usage and sharing.

Technical description:

The customer's day-to-day business includes a major part of administrative operations characterized by a high quantity of incoming documents which are routinely digitized upon receipt. The project goal is a survey of all business process involving a processing of digitized incoming mail. To that end Signavio is used to generate BPM models capturing the status quo as well as providing proposals for process optimization. Whereas some of the relevant processes are already on hand in BPM form, for others BPM modelling is conducted after corresponding business analyst activities. On costumer side the project is part of a larger digitization endeavour, for which the current work provides a milestone.
