The client operates as a transport association in public transport. For its end customers (passengers) and partners, it offers a bonus programme on the basis of which points can be collected for ticket purchases, for example, and redeemed by means of coupons. The PTA implements the necessary extensions in the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales System and implements the interfaces to the internal bonus programme systems. The data stored in the CRM system on the coupons as well as on the individual bonus programme transactions of the passengers are evaluated by PTA GmbH using Microsoft Power BI. Power BI reads the data from the corresponding Dynamics Dataverse entities, prepares it in a star schema and provides the consumer of the reports as well as dashboards.
Information on the coupons created by the partner companies and the bonus programme transactions of the end customers are mapped in custom entities in the CRM. The data is fed from the interface to the internal bonus programme system. The Dynamics system is accessed via Power BI Desktop and all relevant entities are read out as part of the ETL process. The entities are prepared in a star schema with fact and dimension tables. The field labels are taken 1:1 from the German translation in CRM. Various calculated columns and measures are generated using DAX. Evaluations are subdivided into the areas of bonus programme customers, bonus programme users, coupon backups, donations, expiry and various partner evaluations. The reports are provided in a workspace in the Power BI Service and are partly integrated into dashboards that are also consumed in Dynamics Sales.

Power BI as a centralised business intelligence cloud solution is ideal for the preparation and consumption of data by stakeholders. The Power BI reports provide the prerequisite for further end-customer and partner relationship measures.
