Creation of a database for entering the history of engine blocks during production in various process steps, including evaluations for tracking the engine blocks, for quality assurance and for planning.
The areas of both data entry and evaluation are coordinated and developed together with the users of this subareas themselves. This also takes account of acute problems that lead to a excess complexity in the area of evaluations (about 90 evaluations). A Windows online help is created for the database from the written documentation.
Approximately 30 process steps are taken into account, from casting, through to shipping, including customer returns from further processing. The report area shows the data entered and displays based on special categorizations and further-reaching calculations. Most of these are in the form of graphs that can relate to various issues (e.g.: QA, process technology, casting parameters, test track).
