Short description:

Support for an application for processing losses and write-offs, from entering risks through to posting.

Supplement:

The online application is implemented across multiple layers. Data is stored in a DB2 database. The business process logic is mainly implemented on the host in COBOL. The decentralized part is web-based. Data is exchanged between the host modules and the EJBs in the application server via a proprietary persistence layer. Nightly batch processing takes place on the host to consolidate the data and process it further.

Technical description:

Entering and correctly processing losses of various types is a core task of the accounts department. In addition to processing losses, the system is used to enter write-offs and prepare balance sheets. One special focus is on processing data for the change of fiscal year, with corresponding end-of-year and start-of-year processing.
