Short description:

Designing and implementing communication interfaces between the recording station PC, sorting system control computer, and Unix database server and hardware interfaces to the barcode reader, label printer, and package scale.

Supplement:

Creating Windows DLLs for the Windows PC interfaces, C and Pro-C programs for the Unix interfaces, and PL/SQL packages for merging data from the various data sources.

Technical description:

The data about the processed packages and their sorting should be promptly available in the database. If Unix fails, emergency operation should be possible. Target information, such as the sorting tables used by the control computer, should be transferred to the control computer via Unix.
