In the German electricity market, the metering point operator has been responsible for the collection, processing and star distribution of metered values to other market participants since the end of 2019. The customer assumes this role and is supported in the successive adaptation of the systems.
The customer's central master data application holds the master data of the business partners (including distribution system operators, suppliers, transmission system operators and other metering point operators) as well as the transaction data on contracts and market messages. Based on this information, the system, which is programmed with .NET code and based on an SQL database, determines which metering data and energy quantities need to be communicated in the market. For this purpose, the requests for metered values, the meter reading cycles and the changes or cancellations of metered values are determined and answered in cooperation with the customer's own program MaKo-Service.
In detail, the following sub-areas result in this project: productive introduction of the new process for sending expansion meter readings for devices from third-party meter operators, productive introduction of the new process for the cancellation of meter readings and/or energy quantities, productive introduction of the new process for the adjustment of meter reading dates, determination of the need for adjustment in the existing malfunction process as well as review of the existing processes of inventory management and identification of the need for further adjustment. In addition, regular status meetings are held to coordinate the progress of the project. This is followed by handover to the customer's internal IT department and user training.
