To connect a new medical analysis instrument that offers an overall workflow for automated analysis of C. trachomatis-, N. gonorrhoeae- and HPV, connection to laboratory information systems must be ensured. The task here is to establish within the system a communication platform that supports TCP/IP communication using the standard protocols ASTM and HL7.
Supplement
The file-based input information, which exists in XML format, must be converted to the standard protocols ASTM and HL7 and made available via the network (TCP-IP). In addition an internal communication platform is tailored to the setup of the instrument and configured in accordance with the requirements. To convert the XML files, a style sheet in XSLT format must be created, which then serves as the basis for generating the standard protocol.
Subject description
To ensure work proceeds as efficiently as possible, various individual devices are combined in logical fashion in order to implement an efficient, automatic overall workflow. In this case, a fully automatic nucleic acid treatment device (with PCR adapter) is combined with a real-time PCR analysis system to form an overall system for use in a PCR laboratory. Connection to a laboratory information system (LIS) is essential to order analyses efficiently and forward analysis results, and thereby ensure an optimal laboratory workflow. For uniform connection to an LIS, standard protocols are usually used, which significantly streamlines the connection process. Within the framework of the project, the customer is provided support to adapt their internal protocol for additional processing. Finally the customer is able to connect to an LIS using the standard protocols ASTM and HL7.
