The new SAP product line

SAP S/4HANA represents the latest SAP product line and will sooner or later replace the Business Suite. However, the current core product SAP ERP is to be further developed and maintained until at least 2025. SAP does not see S/4HANA as a mere further development of SAP ERP, but as a completely new product line that was developed as a strategic response to the challenges of digital change.

All current and future SAP customers are thus faced with the challenge of migrating to S/4 HANA in the coming years.

Key innovations of SAP S/4 HANA are

The in-memory database HANA is the core of the new product and offers very fast access to all company data. It can also serve as a basis for further applications outside S/4 HANA.

The new UI5-based user interface offers the end user an application tailored to his role(s). In addition to the official Fiori apps rolled out by SAP, companies can also create their own apps or have them developed by SAP partners and make them available to their users.

An essential point of S/4 Hana is the integration of (social) networks and other software products.
SAP S/4 HANA enables an all-round view of all business areas through flexible connection of required software. The digital core, SAP S/4 HANA, always remains the central contact point for all enquiries.

Besides the classic on-premise operation, SAP also offers various cloud versions of S/4 HANA. Additional software products can also be connected via the cloud.

The digital core

With SAP S/4 HANA, companies in all industries are able to drive digital change. The digital core forms the basis for innovation and optimisation and supports a digitalisation of all business processes. Analyses from different business areas can be combined in real time and lead to better informed employees and partners in all areas of the company.

Migration to SAP S/4 HANA

There are various scenarios for the changeover to SAP S/4 HANA. A key factor is the decision in favour of an on-premise version or one of the cloud versions. However, certain preconditions must be met in each case, for example the legacy system must be a Unicode system and not a dual stack.
If you decide to implement SAP S/4 HANA as part of an on-premise version, there are basically two options open to you: New installation of an S/4 HANA system or the migration of your existing SAP system to SAP S/4 HANA.
