Azure Enterprise Scale Cloud Migration
Project duration: 1 year, 10 months
Brief description
The project involves migrating the existing cloud architecture to the Azure Enterprise Scale architecture. The primary goal of the migration is to enhance the security of the cloud software. PTA is supporting the DevOps team in implementing all necessary organizational and technical measures to carry out the migration.
Supplement
The existing cloud architecture-the Public Cloud Framework, Version 1-will be migrated to the Enterprise-Scale Architecture as part of the migration process. This is a very extensive project involving the migration of approximately 60 applications. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is consistently applied. The primary technologies used are Terraform and YAML. In the existing Public Cloud Framework, the applications run primarily on Azure App Services. In the Enterprise-Scale Architecture, the applications run primarily in containers. PTA is independently responsible for the entire migration of applications, including organizational responsibility, technical implementation, and coordination of the necessary testing.
Subject description
The Public Cloud Framework is a cloud platform that has evolved organically from a technical standpoint, without a centrally established enterprise architecture-that is, it features varying security concepts and inconsistent network structures. The goal of migrating to the Azure Enterprise Scale architecture is to create a cloud platform with a company-wide, standardized, secure, and scalable operating platform. With the new cloud platform, security policies are enforced centrally, new projects are deployed more quickly, cloud resources are scaled in a controlled manner, and, ultimately, operating costs are reduced.
