Cloud-Native Customer Journey Platform for Digital Insurance Distribution

This IT project is part of our digitalization and optimization of our customers’ IT landscape. Through targeted measures, we promote technological progress, optimize cross-system processes and create a sustainable basis for future developments. Our IT reference projects serve as a basis for orientation. They support the reusability of tried and tested concepts as part of project implementation.

Project duration: 2 years, 1 month

Brief description

A cloud-native web application is being newly developed for the distribution of insurance products in the private retail customer sector. The solution consists of an Angular-based frontend and a backend built on Java Spring Boot. PTA supports this project, which is run in an agile environment, in particular with architecture, development, and test automation.

Supplement

The frontend is built with TypeScript and follows a microfrontend architecture: a central Angular application enables the implementation of any number of configurable customer journeys for different insurance products. Depending on the use case, these are delivered either as standalone web apps or embedded within a web environment managed through Adobe Experience Manager, enabling flexible white-label rollout across multiple distribution channels. The Java-based backend communicates with a wide range of connected services, handles the saving and loading of processes, and passes the corresponding data on to the frontend. Test automation is carried out using JUnit, Jest, and Playwright, while monitoring and observability are handled with tools such as Jenkins, Dynatrace, Grafana, and Kibana. PTA manages the project as part of full-stack development, has been decisively involved in all key architectural decisions since the project's inception, and also takes on core responsibilities in testing and DevOps.

Subject description

Through a cloud-native web application, the client distributes a broad portfolio of insurance products to private retail customers, including liability, home contents, legal protection, building, and accident insurance. Thanks to the modular, parameterizable architecture, the range of customer journeys can be extended at any time without significant technical effort. Cloud-based execution makes the application accessible independent of device, operating system, or browser.
