Conceptual design and implementation of a basic sales module

Brief description
In order to plan, execute and follow up on sales events, consultants at a globally active company require technical software support. The focus here is on recording all data (presentation, customers, articles ordered, target turnover). An application is implemented to assist recording and transfer of order data by consultants to the regional businesses. The aim here is to significantly reduce the effort required of consultants to ensure error-free recording, as well as the costs of follow-up processing of scanner forms in the regional business.
Supplement
The application is implemented with the object-oriented programming language Java 1.5. Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.5.0 ensures that the application can be started on any operating system. An SQL desktop database (HSQLDB) is used to store demonstration data. The database provides a consistent backup of the data on the local computer.
Subject description
The company produces and sells household goods. The products are sold using a "home demonstration system" . In this "home demonstration system" the products are presented and offered to the customer in detail, in their use environment, the home. These demonstrations are organized by hosts, who invite customers to a party. At the party, the consultants and/or group consultants demonstrate the products. In Germany, there are around 60,000 consultants. The application helps consultants record and transfer the order data to the regional business.
