Development of project controlling for T&M and fixed cost projects
Brief description
The goal of the project is the development and establishment of a project controlling process including supporting tools. This enables the project managers to plan capacity on a weekly basis and to monitor budgets and project progress. Planning data is regularly adapted to the project situation and communicated to the corporate controlling department. As an early warning system, trends are identified and measures coordinated.
Supplement
A specific controlling tool based on MS Excel 2019 and VBA is used. In addition to working hours, the data used is internal planning data, project capacity planning and holiday planning. Data from an Application LifeCycle Management Tool is used to monitor the project status and expenditure developments. Project data, such as overall budget, project duration and milestones are also components. In addition to the weekly tracking of the project progress, the current status, forecast and planning data are coordinated with the project manager and adjustments made in a second step. These adjustments are coordinated, coordinated and communicated with the planning of other projects. The results are then documented.
Subject description
The standardized tool and a uniform methodology support a structured planning and controlling process of the projects. The weekly overview of actual and PLAN data and various forecasts enable timely corrections to be made. By comparing the content planning with the capacity planning, deviations can be detected and corrected. Project peculiarities can also be mapped and monitored. The complexity of a project determines the scope of the content and makes it possible to monitor more specific indicators such as performance.
