Digital management of visitors as well as automated verification of open-source dependencies
Brief description
As part of a project, a modern, web-based software solution is being developed to address two specific business requirements: the digital management of visitors and the automated scanning of open-source dependencies for known security vulnerabilities. Both requirements are being implemented as standalone web applications with a unified technical architecture. The overall architecture follows the Clean Architecture approach to ensure a clear separation of business logic, data access, and presentation. This ensures high maintainability, good extensibility, and improved testability of all components. The application is preferably deployed via Docker containers to ensure a reproducible and environment-independent runtime environment.

From a technical standpoint, the project aims to utilize a modern and future-proof technology stack. ASP.NET Core 10 is used as the backend framework with a minimal API architecture, providing a lean, easily testable, and high-performance REST API. Data management is handled via Entity Framework Core 10. The frontend is implemented using two different technologies, depending on the development phase: First, with Angular as a single-page application (SPA), and second, with Blazor (.NET 10), either as a server-side or WebAssembly variant. Both frontends communicate with the backend exclusively via clearly defined REST interfaces.
Subject description
The solution to be developed will replace or supplement existing manual processes with a fully digitized, centrally accessible web application. In the area of visitor management, an intuitive user interface will be provided, allowing reception and security staff to efficiently check visitors in and out and view an up-to-date overview of who is on-site at any time. In the area of security analysis, developers and project managers will receive a tool that allows them to quickly and reliably identify known vulnerabilities (CVEs) in NuGet and npm packages without having to manually use external tools.
