Document storage

Brief description
Replacing a devolo dLAN 500 AV Wireless+ Starter Kit document storage system that is not used much with a solution that is better integrated into the system landscape. Outsourcing the document storage function from the CRM database system also reduces the size of the database and improves the performance of system processes.
Supplement
Transferring the documents out of the database scales down the average database size by about 20%. The gains in database performance also result in an improvement to the performance of system processes (e.g. backup, restore, setting up data reconciliation, database modifications).
Subject description
User-acceptance and the user-friendliness of software often depend on more technically driven aspects, such as rapid database access and quick availability of documents. Increasing the database performance by reducing the physical size of the database therefore seems like a logical consequence of the CRM serving a large group of users (approximately 38,000 users) and has to function with almost no administrator input.
