Brief description
The PTA supports a client in the mechanical and plant engineering sector with the execution of a market and software evaluation. The goal of the project is to enable the client to make an informed decision about which standard ERP solution on the market best meets their requirements. To achieve this, the PTA employs methods from requirements management and business management to conduct a fit gap analysis based on the existing processes and requirements, identifying the most suitable standard ERP solution. As a result of the project, the client receives a decision ready recommendation that lists the best matching candidates.
Supplement
Building on a previous project that the PTA carried out for the client in the machine and plant engineering sector, where the PTA prepared a recommendation regarding the future of the existing ERP system, an additional software evaluation project is now being undertaken for the same client. The aim of this project is to enable the client to select the most suitable ERP standard solution from the available options. In this project the PTA assumes both the role of project manager and that of business and requirements analyst. Within the scope of the project the PTA follows its proven software evaluation methodology, which includes requirements gathering and analysis, process collection and analysis, market scouting, and a fit gap analysis of the requirements against potential ERP candidates. The results are presented to the client in a final, decision ready recommendation document.
Subject description
The project documentation is carried out according to PRINCE2 v7. As part of this project, a comprehensive fit gap analysis is performed to identify the ERP standard solutions on the market that best match the clients' needs. For this, the requirements prioritized by the client are compared with the features and characteristics of the potential ERP candidates.
