Service description with estimated time and costs for creating a customized software solution for a portfolio management system for the commodity type gas, in order to map the necessary business processes for an energy trader’s specialist department.
Supplement
On the basis of the requirements specification created by the customer, the requirements are analyzed, possible solutions are compiled and these are defined and delineated in a service description. The Enterprise Architect modeling tool is used to generate class models and estimate the implementation effort (covers tasks from specifying the conceptual design through to commissioning) at the level of the associated functions. A system architecture based on the customer’s master data system is designed for the application. The application is to be integrated into the customer’s system landscape and various interfaces implemented with the use of system components that are already in use. An analysis is carried out for integrating new components for internal/external data exchange and industry-specific calculations with MATLAB. An iterative procedure is planned as the method for the project.
Subject description
The customer plans to introduce a portfolio management system for the gas commodity type. The customer is already supplying natural gas to its end customers in some market areas in Germany and Austria. In the medium term, the customer plans to trade and supply customers with natural gas in all German and Austrian market areas. In the long term, the aim is to operate gas storage and transport gas between market areas. The higher-level objective of the software introduction is to map all the functionally relevant processes (including mapping by market area, monitoring and optimizing contracts, and nominating forecast and procured quantities and constantly comparing target and actual values) in one system. Furthermore, the invoicing processes are to be mapped in accordance with the legal requirements and various reports are to be generated for monitoring transactions.
