GitLab-Migration KWK 4.0

This IT project is part of our digitalization and optimization of our customers’ IT landscape. Through targeted measures, we promote technological progress, optimize cross-system processes and create a sustainable basis for future developments. Our IT reference projects serve as a basis for orientation. They support the reusability of tried and tested concepts as part of project implementation.

Brief description

Migration of the source code of an application for supporting the billing of energy industry surcharges from the Git repository of PTA GmbH into the customer's GitLab system.

Supplement

As part of the project, the source code and all artifacts of the extensive application are transferred into the customer's GitLab system. In addition to the already existing test and production system there, another environment for consolidation is set up. The deployment of the application to the various customer environments is consequently fully managed via GitLab. However, it remains possible to also use local development environments outside the customer environment by providing the required artifacts via a registry from the customer's AWS instance. All activities required for transferring the code and further artifacts as well as setting up the deployment processes are carried out by PTA in close coordination with the customer.

Subject description

Due to the high dynamics in the environment, the affected system for supporting the billing of energy industry surcharges is subject to high and often very short-term pressure for changes. Through the migration into the customer's GitLab system and the deployment processes set up there, all required changes can in the future be transferred into the productive system in a very secure, fast, and fully traceable manner, and thus easily controllable by the customer via the various test instances.
