Implementation of cross-company personnel data interfaces
Project duration: 5 months
Brief description
Additional automated data transfer mechanisms are to be established between the customer's personnel data management systems and those of its parent company. The aim of the work is to efficiently ensure that approximately 4,000 IT users are provided with sufficient IT licenses. In addition, it will enable additional precautions to be taken in the area of quality assurance for company master data. PTA is working closely with the customer's and parent company's technical and specialist contacts to design a practical solution and implement it technically.
Supplement
The project tasks include a preparatory design phase to identify suitable technical transmission channels between the companies. Various technological prototypes are used as proof of concept. The required data transfers are unidirectional, with a technical combination of LDAP and FTP procedures proving particularly practical. In addition, PTA is responsible for the necessary structural enhancements to central data storage in the customer environment, e.g., to store cross-company subject keys and to prepare and execute data transfers functionally. Furthermore, supporting functionalities for administrative staff are designed and implemented in existing intranet applications. This ensures that necessary manual interventions to ensure high data quality can be carried out in a targeted and simple manner.
Subject description
The implementation of the project will create a sustainable basis for systematically covering compliance and licensing requirements and minimizing risks associated with license violations. In addition, the simplified comparison of licenses provided and those actually required in the IT context will identify opportunities for reducing costs. Adequate support for the responsible persons with suitable tools will ensure that necessary data cleansing and clarification can be carried out efficiently.
