Introduction of test automation as part of B2C platform development
Brief description
The aim of the project is to introduce automated testing as part of the simultaneous development of a B2C platform. To this end, PTA is conducting a proof of concept (PoC). The goal of this PoC is to automate the smoke tests that have previously been performed manually on a weekly basis after the delivery of a new version of the B2C platform. Datadog is being used as the tool for this test automation.
Supplement
The requirements are implemented in agile, cross-functional teams using user stories. As part of agile development, weekly updates of the test and production environments are planned. Their release depends on the successful completion of upstream smoke tests. PTA provides support in converting these tests from manual to automated execution.
Subject description
The introduction of test automation has several objectives. On the one hand, it aims to reduce the personnel/manual effort required for smoke tests while increasing the scope of testing. In addition, automation can reduce potential sources of error and enable better reproduction and analysis of errors found through more comprehensive documentation.
