IT adjustments to migrated, centralized authentication system

Brief description
A version update of the central authentication system based on biometric data will change existing access mechanisms in order to make managed user information accessible to other central systems within the company for the purpose of assigning and checking authorizations. The project involves adapting the system interfaces used to ensure that data can continue to be exchanged smoothly between the systems involved. In addition, the central user authorization system will be further developed. Preparatory analysis work on necessary technical and, if necessary, organizational modifications, as well as their IT implementation in the context of individual software, will be carried out by PTA GmbH in close coordination with the manufacturer of the biometric system and the customer's specialist and IT departments involved.

As part of preparatory technical analyses, all interfaces between the central biometric solution and individual systems are tested using a test system provided, and any necessary adjustments are identified. These modifications are implemented in the affected system interfaces, services, and intranet applications and tested in consultation with the customer project team. A particular challenge is the final go-live of all affected system components, which will take place without affecting regular business operations. This requires intensive coordination and preparation with other members of the customer project team.

The implementation of the project tasks as part of a larger IT project for the customer ensures that the existing integration between the company's central authentication and authorization mechanisms continues to function smoothly. In addition, intensive preliminary analyses and tests ensure that consistent data is available at all times, especially in sensitive areas of IT access control, and that the actual conversion of the biometric system can take place without any noticeable impact on regular business operations.
