Management information system for a large hospital

Brief description
SAP Lumira is used to create a management information system with KPIs (cockpit) for a large hospital, which allows a quick monthly overview of the defined control parameters. Reporting is based on the International Business Communication Standard (IBCS, see https://www.ibcs.com). For example, KPIs on case numbers, outpatient services, economic and personnel data are displayed.

To enable high-performance reporting in the dashboard, the data available in the BW system is prepared monthly (at the push of a button) for the cockpit (in versions). The data from more than 50 data pools (Info Cubes, classic and advanced data store objects = DSOs) is processed by 6 composite providers using one InfoSource and stored in 6 advanced DSOs. The data is formatted and structured using expert routines that are implemented in one and the same generic method of a central ABAP class created for this purpose.
Subject description
On the first page of the cockpit, the central KPIs – e.g. number of cases, case mix, DB II, personnel costs, productivity, evaluation deviations from InEK (Institut für das Entgelttsystem im Krankenhaus), outpatient services, etc. – are displayed. – The data is displayed in six groups using (rotatable) tiles. The presentation on the tiles is made with percentage changes to the plan or previous year or (rotated) with bar charts showing the values of the current and the three previous years. From each KPI group you can jump to a detailed page, which displays these and other KPIs in a more detailed form (time or structure) (bar chart, waterfall chart). You can jump from these detail pages to the existing reporting by taking parameters such as year and cost center with you.
