Middleware for the insurance field service

Brief description

Due to distributed data storage, it is not possible for the systems of an insurance company to access data of the intermediaries. This is a challenge with an increasing proportion of calculation modules based purely on web technologies, as the intermediary is forced to make multiple entries. Within the framework of this project, the intermediary also gains access to his data from a web environment.

Supplement

As part of the reorientation of the insurer, the calculation and application of insurance products is increasingly being implemented using web technologies. There is therefore a system break between the (offline) data of the broker and the (online) calculation modules of the insurer. The middleware developed by us closes this gap. The central component of the application uses a method based on WSS (Web Service Secure Connection) to establish a connection between the web application and the database. A message broker (RabbitMQ) is used for communication, which the Web application can access via a SOAP service interface.

Subject description

For historical and legal reasons, the insurance company stores the agent's data locally on site. A CRM solution based on a client/server application with an underlying database exists for this purpose. Thus, the agent always has access to his data. With the developed software it is possible to make already recorded data about customers or prospective customers from the CRM system available to the calculation modules, which run in a web browser. The solution ensures that each agent only has access to his own data. In addition, the agent himself has the option of controlling access to his CRM system.
