Migration of a product database to AWS

An on-premise DB2 database is to be migrated to a PostgreSQL DB and hosted in the cloud on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The infrastructure will initially be defined and deployed with Terraform as infrastructur as code. With the AWS database migration services, the existing data is loaded into the cloud. There, the database is split into two instances, one for normalized data storage and a denormalized form as the basis for users. The advantage is that it is sufficient to back up the normalized one via snapshots. Via Foreign Data Wrappers one is to be integrated into the other for queries.
