Migration of databases to AWS
Brief description
As part of the insurer's cloud strategy, license-free databases will be used in future to reduce costs. Existing Oracle databases are to be migrated to Aurora PostgreSQL DBs on AWS. The AWS database migration will load the existing data into the cloud.
Supplement
Existing on-premise Oracle databases are to be migrated to Aurora PostgreSQL DBs on the one hand and hosted in the cloud on Amazon Web Services (AWS) on the other. With the AWS database migration, the existing data is loaded into the cloud. In order to be prepared for a disaster in the primary data center, a global database with clusters in two regions is used. DBVisualizer and pgAdmin 4 are used to manage and analyze the database.
Subject description
In the life and construction financing divisions of an insurance company, data from various services is stored in Oracle databases. To simplify database maintenance and reduce costs, a consolidated license-free database is to be used in the cloud for each area as part of the insurance company's cloud strategy.
