Operation and further development of cloud-based infrastructure (GCP)
Project duration: 3 years
Brief description
This project involved the operational management and continuous development of a productive cloud infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platform. The aim was to ensure the stability, security, and availability of the systems and to implement necessary adjustments during ongoing operations.
Supplement
The activities included analyzing operational problems, making configuration adjustments, and expanding existing cloud resources. This included firewall adjustments for client, server, or database connections, setting up and maintaining cloud storage buckets (GSC), analyzing and implementing suitable sizing for the VMs (GCE), changes to Cloud Run Functions, and creating and authorizing service accounts. All components were provided using Terraform in accordance with the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approach. The Terraform modules and resources were implemented and updated in line with the customer's security requirements. In addition, existing Python components were expanded and adapted to cover new operational requirements or optimize existing processes.
Subject description
Regular maintenance and targeted further development of the cloud infrastructure ensured stable and secure operation. Changes were implemented and documented in a structured manner to ensure sustainable maintainability. The project required a good understanding of cloud architecture and a high degree of care when making changes close to production.
