The project involves developing a new stock transfer system for brokers. A web application is implemented in Java on the basis of service-oriented architecture (SOA); it provides important functions throughout the company via web services. (See also follow-up project ID 2912.)
Supplement
The project is a pilot project for implementation in a service-oriented architecture. Essential functions are published in the form of web services and are therefore available throughout the company. The IBM tool stack is used here: essentially the WebSphere Application Server and Integration Developer. The project is implemented in Java and the user interfaces are implemented with Java Server Faces. Internally, an architecture based on the Service Component Architecture specification (SCA) is used. The necessary master data is imported via various interfaces (web services and file transfer to the host) from the inventory systems and kept for archiving purposes (together with the transfer logs) in a separate database (DB2).
Subject description
When needed (e.g. if a broker retires), entire customer and contract portfolios have to be transferrable to one or more new brokers. Particular attention has to be paid here to dividing the portfolio according to the expected commission. If a customer wishes, it should also be possible to bundle that customer’s insurance contracts to a specific broker. Furthermore, the data for creating a form letter to inform the brokers and customers affected is exported to Excel.
