Portfolio transfer
Brief description
In a portfolio transfer, customers, prospective customers and contracts are transferred from one agency to another. Possible reasons for this are, for example, succession arrangements when an agent retires or an organizational changeover of portfolios on the part of the insurer. PTA provides support in analyzing the technical requirements and the design of the interfaces. To ensure correct implementation, suitable test cases are created and their execution is documented in Zephyr.
Supplement
The portfolio transfer is initiated by creating a text file based on a delivery of contracts to be transferred. This text file is supplemented by interested parties and other persons with additional contract roles to that of the policyholder. Kafka events are then generated from the resulting transfer file, the orchestration of which is taken over by the application created. As part of this orchestration, individual transmission events are generated for each system component. The components involved consume these events and report the respective processing status via reply events. The application implemented here consumes these reply events in order to be able to create a complete overview of the status of a portfolio transfer.
Subject description
The application consists of a globally deployed core that controls the events via Kafka. However, the events that trigger the portfolio transfer are generated differently in the respective country organizations. The solution described here relates to the German market. The application is also used in France and Switzerland. It is used for the transfer of contracts in the context of succession planning for agents who are retiring, for the formation of partnerships and also for agency closures.
