Q2C Advanced Pricing Component

This IT project is part of our digitalization and optimization of our customers’ IT landscape. Through targeted measures, we promote technological progress, optimize cross-system processes and create a sustainable basis for future developments. Our IT reference projects serve as a basis for orientation. They support the reusability of tried and tested concepts as part of project implementation.

Brief description

The Q2C Advanced Pricing Component (APC) is a minimal-API web application built on .NET 9 that provides central pricing policies to quotation calculation systems such as Global Deal Calculation (GDC) and Conga. The solution is used globally by a leading pharmaceutical company and supports consistent, strategy-compliant pricing.

Supplement

The application is designed as a standalone .NET Core 9 component and provides pricing guidelines, such as floor prices and target price ranges, via REST interfaces in JSON format. The necessary master data is retrieved via interfaces from a central commercial database (CDB). Within the application, product-specific attributes are evaluated, dynamic currency conversions are performed, and pricing information is provided based on these results. Development takes place in Visual Studio 2022 using C#. The technical and business documentation for the endpoints, workflows, and architecture is maintained in the customer´s own Confluence Wiki, both in text form and using architectural diagrams. The source code is managed in GitLab and deployed automatically via integrated CI/CD pipelines.

Subject description

From a technical standpoint, the application serves to centrally provide pricing guidelines for physical and digital products. These guidelines are used in the connected quotation calculation systems to ensure consistent, transparent, and controllable pricing across the entire company. Prices can be valid globally, regionally, or locally, with conversion to the respective target currency occurring dynamically within the application. The underlying master data is sourced from central systems, including SAP. The business logic processes complex parameters in this context. For physical products, factors such as volume-based pricing, validity periods, different pricing models, country-specific tax rates, and technical attributes such as pool sizes are taken into account. For digital products, dynamic price and quantity calculations are performed, which depend, among other things, on the billing frequency.
