Redesign of interface architecture for master data system
Project duration: 9 months
Brief description
To ensure the interface operation of the central master data application with the various external systems, the entire interface architecture is analysed and redesigned in light of the growing data volume and increasingly complex process requirements. The interface processes are controlled, monitored and documented via a central journal table. A total of nine different categories, each with 1-n different object types, are to be differentiated here.
Supplement
Due to the historical development, these have not yet been considered systematically and in a differentiated manner. For example, there is a lack of defined categories and object types, as well as scalable and dedicated data access and status transitions that can be used to control the necessary processing steps.
Subject description
In the first expansion stage, the categories and object types are defined and integrated into a separate data model. In addition, the entire access layer is ported to the new structure, thus ensuring a future-proof and scalable process. In the second expansion stage, the individual categories are transferred to separate control tables and the monolithic interface architecture is modularised with regard to both the data model and the processes.
