Reorganisation in support for energy trading systems
Project duration: 7 months
Brief description
PTA helps to optimise the working methods in Level 2 and Level 3 support for the middleware solutions used in the energy trading of a power plant operator. The focus is on the forwarding of energy trading contracts between the systems involved, such as ETRM and scheduling solutions via Fuse ESB and Flink/Kafka in the AZURE Cloud. Appropriate rules are created and documented for the processing and follow-up of incoming tickets concerning misconduct or requests regarding the middleware. Furthermore, proposals for monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana as well as for the documentation of the system landscape with Confluence Wiki are developed.
Supplement
Erroneous data exchange is recorded as incidents in ServiceNow, and queries from the specialist departments are recorded in Azure DevOps. A further requirement is that improvements to interfaces as well as to the way the support department works can be tracked. These activities are also stored in Azure DevOps as work items. In order to obtain an overview of the situation of the errors that have occurred and the further activities, reports are designed and implemented in PowerBI or Azure DevOps.
Subject description
The creation of energy trading contracts requires a comparison of data in different IT systems via the middleware. The reliability of the interfaces is particularly important in short-term electricity trading. A reliable database is an essential prerequisite for the efficient trading of energy quantities on the markets and for the preparation of schedules and nominations.
