Sales information system

The application logic is implemented in C#. The PTA components common/error handling, tree view and DB access were used. The application is installed on every user notebook and accesses a local MSDE instance. An SQL server replication supplies the local databases with data from head office. The replication is configured so that every user receives a specifically tailored database (especially their own customers). The data from the existing SAP system take precedence. The SAP LIS is used for interface control. In a workshop, the customer is trained to use the setup independently. The transfer to the SQL server is performed via a text file export from SAP followed by a reconciliation of the data via T-SQL procedures. Furthermore, the sales data (around 4 million individual records centrally, and around 100,000 decentrally at ADM) from SAP are made available with a preconfigured Excel report as cube and query in the sales system.
