Development of a BW application for analyzing and graphically presenting the availabilities of IT systems.

Structuring a data model with multiple InfoCubes and ODS objects for mapping the system availability with characteristics and key figures. Mapping the business logic for system networks and clusters in the data model and in the Excel report. Creating an automated loading operation via generic extraction. Connecting a BPS (Business Planning and Simulation) application for manually maintaining system factors in order to calculate individual key figures. Dynamic data formatting for graphic charts in the report.
Subject description
The availability of individual IT systems, such as server, clusters and network lines, is to be indicated together with a graphical evaluation for monthly reporting. The source data, in the form of failure notifications from individual systems, is made available each day via a Lotus Notes database. Downtime is calculated on the basis of chronological information, such as the date and time, as well as a special business logic for individual IT groups and clusters. This downtime is displayed graphically in the report by selecting various options.
