SAP ECC 6.0: Redesigning SAP interfaces for a shipping and loading system

Project duration: 10 months

Brief description

Upon request by a managing partner, the existing interfaces for communicating shipping and loading data from and to the partner system are to be converted from proprietary data formats to an XML-based (sector) standard. Based on the existing descriptions, functional specifications are created and coordinated, the interfaces are designed and implemented in SAP, including the required adaptations to existing back-office applications in SAP.

Supplement

The SAP applications in the area of loading and shipping processing are not based on standard SAP or sector solutions, but were developed independently based on ABAP Workbench. SAP-PI is not being used for data exchange, converting XML files, etc.; this is done by an application called "eBiss" by the Pranke company.

Subject description

The partners deliver loading master data for road loading (tanker trucks –> LoadIDs) and non-road loading (tank car (train), ship –> nomination loading). Tank truck loading can be optionally associated with contracts, orders or specific shipments and is to be checked as standard against existing contingents, approvals, customs and tax agreements, etc. Communication and processing at the loading terminal is also to be controlled, including management in the back office. With the response, the partners receive data regarding the loading processes (delivery notes, etc.).
