SAP ERP 6.0: Provision of test reports

Brief description
When shipping large quantities of mineral oil products, e.g. by ship or rail car, the shareholders require the automatic submission of laboratory certificates / test reports in addition to the usual freight and customs documents. Within the existing SAP dispatch processing, PTA determines the relevant certificates, their request and creation in a separate laboratory system and integrates them into the pre-print, print and archiving application.

The shipping applications are not based on SAP standard or industry solutions, but are in-house developments based on the ABAP Workbench. The laboratory information system on Oracle DB is integrated via db connect. The output management is based on software from CSW, the outgoing and incoming interfaces are to be operated.
Subject description
Samples are regularly taken from the loading and, if necessary, swelling tanks and analysed in a laboratory, e.g. for density, energy and water content, suspended solids, sulphur content, etc. Compliance with limit values is analysed and the result is recorded in a certificate. When sending large quantities, the relevant certificates are determined and a test report (PDF) is triggered at the laboratory. When the shipping documents are printed, the relevant test reports are automatically output.
