SAP ERP System Migration from Oracle Database to SAP HANA Database

Project duration: 8 months

Brief description

Migration of an existing SAP ERP 6.0 system landscape from Oracle 11.2.04. to SAP HANA 1.0. As part of the migration, we upgraded SAP ERP 6.05 to SAP ERP 6.07 and performed a Unicode conversion. The hardware will also be changed with the migration.

Supplement

The system landscape consists of 3 systems (development, test and production system), which are migrated one after the other. In addition to the migration, the systems are moved to a new system environment at the same time. The challenge besides the database change lies in upgrading the system landscape from SAP ERP 6.05 to SAP ERP 6.07. Furthermore, after the relocation of the system landscape, it must be ensured that all existing interfaces continue to function.

Subject description

Within the scope of the project, the previous Oracle databases are to be replaced and converted to SAP HANA database technology. In addition, the existing hardware will be updated and the operating system changed. The migration is carried out with the Software Update Manager with Data Migration Option (DMO). A combination of upgrade and Unicode conversion is used as the migration procedure.
