A comprehensive archiving concept based on SAP ILM was developed as part of the project. This takes into account technical, functional and legal requirements for data archiving. The concept was used to define clear specifications for data retention periods, archiving objects, retention periods and access regulations.
Subject description
The archiving concept based on SAP ILM was created with the aim of establishing a sustainable strategy for rule-compliant data archiving in SAP systems. Relevant data objects and their archiving potential were analyzed. Legal requirements such as GDPR and internal company guidelines were taken into account. The results form the basis for future implementation and integration into the existing SAP system landscape. The concept also takes into account organizational responsibilities, processes for archiving scheduling and the subsequent use of the central ILM functionality Retention Management.
