Settlement of in-house services (product cost settlement)

Brief description
Internal services are defined as products in a group of chemical companies and these services are settled in SAP R/3. The product master data is defined and managed in an upstream system that is implemented using Web Dynpro dialogs based on SAP NetWeaver.
Supplement
Previously, advance processing was supported by SAP R/3 with a variety of tools. Data was exchanged between these tools via interfaces. In the first step, the central master data (which was previously managed with MS Excel) is changed over to a new system that communicates with the R/3 system. A Web Dynpro application is implemented for this application. The Web Dynpro application is operated on the SAP Web Application server with access to the relevant R/3 accounting system. The application is integrated in the SAP Enterprise Portal.
Subject description
Products and service levels are defined for the in-house services carried out by service providers within the group (e.g. waste disposal). This makes it possible to settle costs separately for these services and to settle them against the originating cost centers, with the help of internal service settlement in SAP R/3 CO. In the Web Dynpro applications, the master data is managed synchronously in CO according to cost center, cost type, service type and rate, and prices are tracked and planned.
