Starter software for a back-office system

Brief description
The .NET-based startup software generates a configuration based on the environment parameters and uses it to launch a Java-based branch back-office system at the customer's site.
Supplement
The customer´s branch back-office system depends on various environment parameters, such as credentials for database access, currencies used, URLs for higher-level systems, the version of installed software, etc. The startup software collects this information from sources including the Windows Registry, environment variables, and/or configuration files on the hard drive. The starter software uses this information to construct environment variables and command-line arguments for the JVM in order to launch the back-office software. PTA was involved in the maintenance, further development, and hosting of the source code.
Subject description
The startup software also monitors the branch back-office system once it has started, automatically restarts it if it shuts down, and saves the back-office system´s exit code for further analysis. In addition, it regularly checks for updates to the operating system and the back-office systems. These are installed as needed, and the machine is then restarted.
