Support and further development of a web application for project planning
Brief description
The project involves the maintenance and further development of a web application for planning and managing project portfolios. The application was initially designed by a previous service provider. The web application specifically maps the processes for requesting and approving project budgets. The project focuses on implementing new requirements for the optimal mapping of technical processes within the application and on its technological modernization. This ensures the maintainability of the application and meets the requirements of the existing IT strategy.
Supplement
The application has various interfaces to other customer systems. These include the customer's own authorization management and billing systems. Upcoming upgrades to these systems will also affect the application we support. As part of our ongoing support, we are developing new concepts and implementing them in coordination with the interface systems. Our tasks also include refactoring the existing application, modernizing the components used, and designing a new test concept.
Subject description
The web application supports the project management department in the sales management division of a large insurance company in planning project budgets. Projects can be submitted independently by the various departments via the web application. Members of the customer's central project management team use the application to review, evaluate, and approve the submitted projects, plan the overall budget, organize decision-making committees, and approve and control the project budgets.
