Support for the department in migrating an MS Access database to MS SQL Server

This IT project is part of our digitalization and optimization of our customers’ IT landscape. Through targeted measures, we promote technological progress, optimize cross-system processes and create a sustainable basis for future developments. Our IT reference projects serve as a basis for orientation. They support the reusability of tried and tested concepts as part of project implementation.

Project duration: 4 months

Brief description

Based on the results of the projects 'Pilot migration of Access to SQL Server (3346)' and 'Preliminary analysis of migration of two MS Access databases to MS SQL Server (3677)', the special credit memos department is supported in migrating its customer database from MS Access to MS SQL Server.

Supplement

The department is guided until it is able to perform the migration of the database in a target-oriented and independent manner using the method that was tried and tested in the previous projects. The work steps necessary in the migration are discussed with the department in a workshop. Next, a practical example is presented to show how the software tools are used and the databases are migrated to the SQL Server. The MS Access database is migrated to the MS SQL Server using the 'Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA)'.
