Technical connection of insurance broker register (VVR service) to an inventory management system
Project duration: 10 months
Brief description
Connecting an inventory management system to the insurance broker register in the GDV (German Insurance Association) industry network. The project involves designing and implementing automated notification of broker data to the register from the insurance company’s inventory management system.
Supplement
The connection is via a multi-stage asynchronous process: the data to be transferred is read from an Oracle database by a web service and transferred to the target system’s MQ service interface in the form of xml messages. In the second step, all the xml messages that are available for retrieval on the MQ server are read, interpreted and transferred to the insurer’s inventory management system.
Subject description
Professionally active insurance brokers and consultants must be listed in a central insurance broker register. This should make it possible to check whether an insurance broker or consultant is accredited. The central register is maintained by the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) (broker register as per para. 11a of the German Trade Regulation Act (GewO)). The DIHK provides a web user interface for maintaining the register and a technical interface based on IBM WebSphere MQ via which brokers can be listed with the register.
