Upgrading a power trading system

Brief description
An Endur instance used for power trading is upgraded from version 9 to version 15. The aim is to upgrade the software to the latest release without changing the functions, in order to ensure maintenance by the standard software manufacturer. In the project, the test strategy is created and implementation is tracked. In addition, the user acceptance tests (UAT) are created together with key users and carried out. Bugs in customer-specific enhancements and in the standard software itself are analyzed and rectification is monitored. At the end of the project, workarounds are designed and implemented for errors that cannot be rectified.

In the project, the standard Endur software is upgraded from version 9 to version 15. The entire set of functions is tested, including the interfaces. The test strategy includes automated regression tests and user acceptance tests. One major challenge is to make the degree of coverage of the regression tests transparent to users and track the test progress for all components.
Subject description
In the Endur trading system, all types of energy trading contracts are processed. This includes stock market transactions such as futures and options, OTC clear transactions, short-term trading with physical standard products and strip options, as well as other OTC transactions for marketing power plant output. In the user acceptance test, the back-office settlement processes are tested, in particular. These tests also include the interface to the SAP system.
