Brief description
Due to the validation of workflows at an early stage of the product development by gathering feedback from experts and identifying safety and usability issues, regulatory requirements are fulfilled and documented. Therefore, PTA was mandated, and took the responsibility for the planning of the evaluation, inlcuding the preparation of the study materials and data analysis, derivation of design solutions, and documentation and presentation of the results.
Supplement
The evaluation took place on several international locations with subject matter experts as test candidates. It was a qualitative oriented field study. The basis of the evaluation was an interactive AXURE software prototype. The data analysis comprises qualitative as well as quantitative aspects to meet the customer requirements (user-centred-design) and ISO 62366, 9241 and 14971. The results are integrated as change requests into the product development lifecycle.
Subject description
A comprehensive user-centred-design process to ensure the safety and usability of the product requires the regular conduction of usability evaluations along the product development lifecycle. The involvement of prospective users and the consideration of the use context are therein essential.
