Further development of software for training sales and distribution
Project duration: 8 months
Brief description
The software for the final examination in sales training at a major insurer is to be developed further and brought up to date. To do this, the product portfolio available in the software is updated, the graphical evaluations are improved and user feedback from the past is taken into account in new functions.
Supplement
An SQLite database is installed for this purpose on the servers of each location; this database stores entries made by the sales trainers and participants. The application is implemented with Java 1.5 as a standalone application. Read and write access to the database is by means of the iBATIS framework. The MVC pattern implements the link between persistency and the user interfaces. Three different applications make the functions available to trainers, participants and administrators. The software uses the JExcel framework to write the results of the evaluations directly to Excel tables, where they are then displayed graphically by an Excel-based evaluation module.
Subject description
The software is brought up to date with the newest designations for both the insurance and financial products. In order to be able to analyze group results, trainers are provided with overviews of all the posting records and account balances for the entire simulation and the graphical evaluations are improved. An administrative module provides functions for making changes to the events in a scenario and to the effects of those events. Automatic triggering of capital assets helps participants react to unforeseen scenario events or errors in their strategy.
