Further development of software for configuration migration.
Project duration: 5 months
Brief description
After changing the strategic IT product, the relevant software tools should also be adjusted to fit the new target product. Within the context of a further development of the existing migration tool, PTA undertakes the enhancement of three migration paths, including bug-fixing and performance improvement. The most important tasks in this process are supplier managemant, requirement determination, quality assurance, and training.
Supplement
The migration tool itself consists of a file-based database with a java user interface. In addition to the systems' configuration files, the tool can export to and import from MS Excel. A notable procedural feature is the implementation and documentation of the project in two different quality management systems, in order for the project to be able to serve as an example for the ISO13485-cerfification.
Subject description
Due to further advancements it has become necessary to convert several output data models into one standard, in order to use this standard for correct transformations of the configuration data and a corresponding export to the target system. Changed customer requirements have resulted in the originally-envisioned goal of a '2 systems'-into-'1 system' solution being expanded to a '5 systems'-into-'2 systems' transformation solution. At the beginning of the Project, there are neither documented requirements nor a test case basis. Because of this, the most important tasks besides bug-fixing are content clarification, documentation, and the creation of a basis for regression testing.
