Database migration and administration

Brief description
Consulting on the migration and reconfiguration of an Oracle database. Development and implementation of a backup strategy. Furthermore, the monitoring of the new environment is improved with the aim of simplifying administration of the database.
Supplement
The existing Oracle server is migrated from AIX 4.33 to AIX 5 and the Oracle databases are migrated from 8.1.7 to 9i. During the migration, the systems that have grown up are re-engineered to improve their structure. This affects both a gas trading system and reports and data warehouse applications. Performance and maintenance problems in the legacy system are rectified by means of a better database configuration. The growth of data is also taken into account during configuration. The administration support improved in 9i is used to set up improved monitoring. The option of migrating the existing Forms 6i application to Forms 10g is also checked.
