Development of a web application for archiving insurance contract data
Brief description
The operation of legacy host systems will be discontinued. This project transitions the long-termin reliable archiving of contract data to a new application with an appropriate database foundation.
Supplement
The application builds on the foundation of a DB2 database. Application logic is initially implemented as a pure Java application. Step by step, this is converted into a Spring Boot application along with an upgrade to Java 21. This allows to provide functionality more uniformly and with a robust qualitative basis. Deployment is carried out via CI/CD pipelines that integrate Jenkins and Artifactory, enabling the application components to be delivered in a containerized fashion on an OpenShift platform.
Subject description
Archived contract data covers a wide range of insurance lines. It includes property and liability as well as claims, accident, and vehicle insurances, plus monetary bonds. Each insurance contract is archived in a tamper-proof manner. At the same time, the application allows access to archived data according to various aggregation and grouping options. This enables analysis features that drive decisions on future product development by incorporating historical contract data.
