Intranet application for managing firewall change requests

Brief description
The aim of the new intranet application is to replace the existing procedure for managing the company's firewall change requests. Up to now, an Excel-based tool has been used to process the currently more than 3,000 changes in a traceable and audit-proof manner. The new system uses existing central personnel data sets and authorization mechanisms as well as direct access to the document management system involved in the process.
Supplement
In close cooperation with the customer, the existing Excel tool was analysed and a meaningful future processing method for the information was developed. Furthermore, a data management system based on an SQL Server database was created, into which the existing information stock must be transferred. The intranet application is based on ASP MVC5 technology. Created change information is stored as a file in the company's SAP-based document management system. The creation is done by using the SQL Server Reporting Services directly from the administration application.
Subject description
The particular benefit of the new application is the significantly better integration into the existing system landscape, including the use of existing data stocks. This eliminates a large number of manual entries and comparisons with central corporate information. In addition, the level of data protection and security increases significantly through the use of certified authentication and authorization procedures.
